A run of renovation upgrades in a Darwin home: a lockable barn door for the hallway, a replacement laundry sink, a bedroom window closed up and made good, and a new LED batten light.
We scoped everything on one onsite visit, quoted it as a single proposal and completed the carpentry, plastering and lighting in one block of work, so the owner dealt with one team and one booking.
Filling in a window is more than patching a hole. The opening has to be framed and lined so the wall is weatherproof on the outside and flat and paintable on the inside. Here that meant cement sheet outside, plasterboard inside, and the joins set, sanded and primed. If you have a window you no longer need, or one that leaks or is damaged, see our Plastering & Render Repairs and Carpentry services.
A barn door slides on a track instead of swinging, so it does not need clear floor space in front of it. It does need a clear stretch of wall to slide along, and a drop bolt or similar fitting if you want it to lock, as it did here. If you are weighing up a new door for a hallway, laundry or bathroom, see our Door Installation & Repair service.
