Meeting room and kitchenette renovation for a Darwin community organisation

A community organisation wanted two small rooms turned into one meeting room with a modern kitchenette, in a busy community office.
Our Solutions
We removed the dividing wall, replaced the old kitchen, laid new flooring and skirting, and coordinated the plumber and electrician so the room could be handed over ready to use.
What we did
- Removed the internal wall between the two rooms and made good the ceiling, with an engineering allowance because the use and layout of the room changed (including fire safety and accessibility).
- Removed the old kitchen and made the electrical and plumbing connections safe, then relocated plumbing to suit the new layout.
- Installed a new flat-pack kitchen with a corner cupboard, overhead cupboard, drawer unit and laminate benchtop, and connected the client’s dishwasher and the existing sink and tapware.
- Laid laminate flooring throughout in a dark brown finish, with timber skirting around the room.
- Replaced the power points, added a glass splashback, fitted white melamine corner door panels and an exit light.
- Repaired the window sill in the store room and replaced skirting on the external wall.
- Painting was completed by the client, outside our scope.
